JOINT RELATIONS OFFICER
AAS C/Lt Col James Sutton
Joint Relations Officer
Though born in New Jersey, AAS C/Lt Col James Sutton moved all over the place during his childhood as a military kid. He is currently majoring in chemistry and minoring in neuroscience. Aspiring to attend medical school and to become a neurologist for the United States Air Force when he commissions in May of 2020, he dedicates much of his time in research labs, volunteering for hospitals, and shadowing physicians.
James joined AFROTC in August of 2015 because he wanted to use his skills to help make a positive impact on our great nation. He joined AAS in his first semester as a freshman because he strongly believed in its missions and objectives, which further the mission of officer commissioning programs. Additionally, James views AAS as an outlet for communicating with others who also strive to achieve excellence in all they do.
Accrediting his inspiration to the airmen who served before him, James finds it humbling to walk in the same path as these brave, selfless women and men. He firmly believes that these individuals, all from different walks of life, have achieved amazing feats of intellectual fortitude, stemming from their bravery instilled by true patriotism and service before self.
Outside of AFROTC and AAS, James enjoys composing music (especially with the guitar) and playing video games.
